1. Ballari, 20.2.2015 – Rao Bahaddur Y Mahabaleshappa College of Engineering 

About 50 people were present in the consultation venue, but only 27 people from Raichur, Ballari and Koppala districts made oral presentations. The presentations were by farmers, college students, lecturers, industrialists, NGOs, individuals working on environmental and social issues, educational institutions, women activists participated.

The focus was largely on industrial pollution in Sandur/ Tornagallu areas.  Main issues raised were: the impact on agriculture and human health by the industrial pollution from mining, steel works and coal power plants; degradation of environment due to forest cover depletion; increased concerns on fresh water availability; need for moving away from industrial base to agro-forestry economy; best practices in mines, steel works and coal power plants; need to develop alternative energy sources such as solar and bio-mass; carrying capacity of the region; carbon disclosure projects of JSW; dry development imperatives; preservation of local environment; organic farming; vehicle pollution; additional mining in sensitive areas; risk of social disharmony due to massive pollution issues; recharging of ground water tables;  solid waste management and waste segregation; agricultural land diversion; afforestation.

2.      Kalaburagi, 21.2.2015 – District Science Centre 

About 30 people were present in the consultation venue, but only 17 people from Kalaburagi, Bidar and Yadgir districts made oral presentations. The presentations were by college students, lecturers, industrialists, NGOs, individuals working on environmental and social issues.

The focus was largely on balanced growth between industry and environment.  Main issues raised were: optimal usage of natural resources; water conservation and rain water harvesting, bio-fuels, renewable energy, garbage disposal, need for massive plantation of trees, awareness programmes at various levels, bio-fuel plants, life style changes, traditional practices, energy efficiency & conservation and best practices in industry,  integrated approach to health related issues in the context of CC, implementation of strict pollution control measures; polluter pays principle; trees on road sides; focus on solar power; bio-pesticides; urbanization, sand and stone extraction issues; vehicle pollution.

3.      Vijayapura, 22.2.2015 – ZP Convention Hall

About 40 people were present in the consultation venue, but only 15 people from Vijayapura, and Bagalkot districts made oral presentations. The presentations were by college students, lecturers, industrialists, NGOs,farmers, and individuals working on environmental and social issues.

The focus was largely on balanced growth between industry and environment.  Main issues raised were: equity in access to natural resources; water conservation, bio-fuels, renewable energy, garbage disposal, need for massive plantation of trees, awareness programmes at various levels, concern on agricultural and horticultural crops from the Kudigi thermal power plant, responsibilities of municipal bodies, safe keep of heritage structure in the districts, e-waste,  animal husbandry, assistance to farmers to prepare for drastic changes in climate, growing drought resistant crops, rural development, concerns on growing urbanization, traditional practices, energy efficiency & conservation and best practices in industry,  bio-diversity conservation, sewage treatment, implementation of strict pollution control measures; trees on road sides; focus on solar power; bio-pesticides; vehicle pollution.
